چکیده

I discuss three subjects in thermal field theory: why in SU(N) gauge theories the Z(N) symmetry is broken at high (instead of low) temperature, the possible singularity structure of gauge variant propagators, and the problem of how to compute the viscosity from the Kubo formula. Based on an invited talk presented at the Workshop on Hot QCD held at the Winnipeg Institute for Theoretical Physics, Winnipeg, July 1992. I take this opportunity to make three comments about field theories at nonzero temperature, especially as applies to hot QCD. The first is trivial; the second, base speculation, and the third, a technical problem. 1. Why the Z(N) symmetry is broken at high temperature Consider an SU(N) gauge theory without dynamical fermions. At nonzero temperature the order parameter for this system is the Polyakov line [1],

Thermal Buckling Analysis of Graphene Nanoplates Based on the Modified Couple Stress Theory using Finite Strip Method and Two-Variable Refined Plate Theory

Graphene is one of the nanostructured materials that has recently attracted the attention of many researchers. This is due to the increasing expansion of nanotechnology and the application of this nanostructure in technology and industry owing to its mechanical, electrical and thermal properties. Thermal buckling behavior of single-layered graphene sheets is studied in this paper. Given the fai...

Thermal Vibration of Composites and Sandwich Laminates Using Refined Higher Order Zigzag Theory

Vibration of laminated composite and sandwich plate under thermal loading is studied in this paper. A refined higher order theory has been used for the purpose. In order to avoid stress oscillations observed in the implementation of a displacement based finite element, the stress field derived from temperature (initial strains) have been made consistent with total strain field. So far no study ...

Rotating magneto-thermoelastic rod with finite length due to moving heat sources via Eringen’s nonlocal model

The article is concerned with a new nonlocal model based on Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity and generalized thermoelasticity. A study is made of the magneto-thermoelastic waves in an isotropic conducting thermoelastic finite rod subjected to moving heat sources permeated by a primary uniform magnetic field and rotating with a uniform angular velocity. The Laplace transform technique with respect ...

حل تحلیلی میدان دمای دوبعدی غیر دائم در استوانه توخالی با شرایط مرزی متغیر و هارمونیک

An exact study on temperature field in a hollow cylinder of finite length which is influenced by a surrounding with harmonic boundary condition is presented. To simulate an idealized situation, it is supposed that the cylinder is homogeneous and isotropic with physical properties independent of temperature and time. Here we impose a harmonic boundary condition on the external surface of the fin...

Quantum Field Theory at Finite Temperature: an Introduction

In these notes we review some properties of Statistical Quantum Field Theory at equilibrium, i.e Quantum Field Theory at finite temperature. We explain the relation between finite temperature quantum field theory in (d, 1) dimensions and statistical classical field theory in d + 1 dimensions. This identification allows to analyze the finite temperature QFT in terms of the renormalization group ...
